Topic Zero

Topic Area 0

Note that the topic area at the top of your shell, Topic 0, is always visible to students. It's a great place to start by adding a short title or welcome message area to the course in the summary of Topic 0. It's NOT a great place for a large amount of content because students will need to scroll down through it each time they visit your course.  

The News and Announcements forum is located in Topic 0. This unique forum forces each student to be subscribed, and while students can reply, only instructors can create new posts. This Moodle communication tool is great for pushing information out since the force subscription setting means all of your students are sent the forum posting via email.
