1. To me, it means consistent contact with students in one form or another to help them understand their progress. It also means that student expectations are clear as to when and how the feedback will happen. It also means it is clear to students how they can connect with an instructor if they have questions about any feedback.
2. I think there is such a thing as too much feedback. One of the things I think college has a responsibility for is fostering student growth in accountability, responsibility and self-advocacy. It is important we give students the tools and teach them how to use them, but equally important that we aren't taking their responsibility.
3. It counts as a kind of feedback, but written, audio, Zoom or in-person commentary/explanations would be much more meaningful and useful for the student.
