Tuition & Fees

We are proud to offer an affordable higher education experience here at NMC. Not only will you save money by enrolling with us – up to $25,000 during your first two years of college – you also can be assured of high-quality learning in an environment that provides personal attention from outstanding instructors.

Tuition Rates (effective fall semester 2009)

Tuition at Northwestern Michigan College is based on the contact hours (except for Maritime) spent with the instructor multiplied by your tuition rate, excluding fees.

Career Tech (CTC)

Occasionally we offer some special career tech classes and the student only pays $75.00 per class and no general fee and no health fee.

Class Fees: Charged for specific courses involving additional materials, laboratory supplies and/or network services provided by instructors, Flexible Learning Options courses, or private studio lessons (Music Department). For Aviation flight fees, contact the Aviation Department.

General Fee: Provides partial support for the cost of registration, orientation, placement and career testing, Student Government Association, and other student services and activities. This fee also contributes to the availability and maintenance of technology for classrooms and student use, and contributes to the maintenance of campus sidewalks and roads.

Health Fee: Paid Fall and Spring semesters by all students taking 6 or more contact hours. It includes services of a registered nurse, medical assistant, doctor, and reduced fees for some medications and lab tests. Students who are enrolled for less than 6 hours may also pay the fee and obtain services by calling (231) 995-1255.
